A dining event unlike anything else in Birmingham
Omakase — meaning "I'll leave it up to you" — is the most personal expression of Japanese hospitality. At Maneki Ramen Birmingham, that trust is placed in the hands of Head Chef Pete, whose menu draws directly from time spent living, cooking, and eating in Japan. This is not a standard restaurant dinner. Seated at the chef's table with a direct view of the pass, you watch each course take shape before it reaches you. Conversation flows between table and kitchen. The menu is set, seasonal, and built to surprise. With a maximum of four guests per seating, this is one of the most exclusive restaurant experiences available in Birmingham — a city whose food scene has never had anything quite like it.

03.
Wine flight pairing
An optional curated wine flight accompanies the menu — a selection of wines chosen by the team to travel alongside each course rather than match it course for course.

Inspired in Japan.Built in Birmingham
Chef Pete's tasting menu is autobiographical. Every dish on the omakase menu carries a memory — a late-night ramen counter in Tokyo, an izakaya in Osaka, a morning fish market in Kyoto. His time spent working and eating in Japan forms the spine of everything you'll taste. At Maneki Ramen Birmingham, that experience is translated into a set menu that is unmistakably Japanese in spirit but rooted in the best produce available here in the West Midlands. This is what omakase means in its truest sense: total trust in a chef who has something genuine to say.

If you're searching for a special occasion restaurant in Birmingham, a unique date night in Birmingham, or simply the most considered Japanese meal available in the West Midlands, this is it.
QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know
Our Birmingham restaurant is located in Birmingham city centre. The chef’s table seats you directly at the kitchen pass, giving you a full view of the kitchen as your meal is prepared. Exact address details are provided with your booking confirmation.
Each seating accommodates a maximum of 4 guests. This is intentional — omakase is a personal, intimate experience, and keeping numbers small ensures every guest receives the full attention of Chef Pete and the kitchen team. The experience is not suitable for larger groups.
We cannot accommodate any dietary requirements for the Tasting Menu.
The wine flight is a curated selection of wines chosen by the Maneki Ramen team to complement the progression of the tasting menu. Unlike a course-by-course pairing, the flight gives you a range of wines to explore across the evening. It is available as an add-on when booking.
With only two seatings of up to four guests each — a maximum of eight covers per week — the tasting menu books quickly. We strongly recommend reserving at least two to four weeks in advance, particularly for weekend dates or special occasions.
Absolutely. The Maneki Ramen omakase tasting menu is one of Birmingham’s most distinctive dining experiences — an intimate, considered evening that suits birthdays, anniversaries, date nights, and any occasion where you want to eat somewhere genuinely memorable. It is unlike anything else currently available in the city.
